When the Sea Turned to Silver

Pinmei is the main character of this book. She lives on a mountain, and has one friend, Yishan. Pinmei's grandma was a very good storyteller, and her stories were like magic. When the Tiger Emperor took her grandma away, Pinmei and Yishan went on a quest to find her. Their quest is filled with challenges, including dragons and magic.

I think this book was great. It was pretty long, so it is good if you like long books. There were parts that were very funny. I learned that in order to complete my goals, I need to be brave and persevere like Pinmei did when she was on here quest. I found it interesting how the stories the grandmother told connected with what Pinmei and Yishan encountered on their journey.
